Vibratory Finishing
Vibratory finishing is a versatile technique used to deburr, burnish, clean, and brighten small workpieces or components. In this process, parts are placed into a vibratory tumbler tub, which is vibrated along with abrasive media to achieve the desired effect. This method is particularly effective for processing small components that need a uniform finish without compromising their integrity.
Our Journey
1982-1985
The need for a local subcontractor offering polishing and buffing services became evident in York, PA. Dave and John Gotwald seized this opportunity and launched Surtech Industries from a garage in East York. The name “Surtech,” derived from “Surface Technology,” highlighted their initial specialization in liquid coatings.
1989
Under Dave’s leadership, Surtech moved to 125 Derry Court, York, PA. The operation expanded from a 1,000 sq. ft. garage to four buildings totaling 50,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space.
1991
Surtech recognized a market need and diversified into powder coating technology.
2000
Surtech evolved into a one-stop metal finishing solutions provider, offering services such as blast preparation, flame spraying, Fluoropolymer & liquid coatings, graphics, and buffing & polishing.
2002
The company relocated to a new 66,000 sq. ft. facility at 915 Borom Road, York, PA, solidifying its position as a comprehensive provider of metal finishing solutions.
Today
Surtech Industries is now a women/family-owned business with over 50 employees and eight specialized business units. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, allowing us to deliver just-in-time deliveries, warehousing, and tier-1 sourcing projects. Our robust ISO 9000:2008 compliant quality system ensures we meet and exceed customer expectations.
