A - Powder Coating is a dry application consisting of a mix of resins, pigments, fillers and additives, and then extruded and milled into a powder. Furthermore, it is a process by which powder is applied using an electrostatic spray procedure, and then placed into a high temperature oven to be chemically/thermally cross-linked and cured.
A - Powder has higher performance properties than liquid paint. In respect to corrosion resistance, heat, impact resistance, ultraviolet rays, and extreme weather conditions, just to name a few, powder is more effective. Furthermore, powder is the lowest cost industrial and commercial coating option on the market. Powder can be applied in a thicker coating, hence more durable, thus products are able to perform at high levels in a single coat system. Said process is conducive to providing a cost effective solution that liquid paint is unable to provide. When pursuing the liquid paint option, you will find that several coats are required to achieve comparable results.
Further benefits: Powder is environmentally welcoming volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or solvents.
A - Powder does NOT emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or solvents. Thus, safeguarding operative staff against harmful emissions and too, preserving our atmosphere.
A - Part size is typically an operating window of 36 inches wide by 60 inches high by 240 inches long. Part weight should not exceed 150 pounds per hook with hook centers on 24 inches.

A - To ensure sufficient powder adhesion and product durability, adequate substrate preparation is required. A highly qualified Surtech associate will provide you with a professional recommendation as to substrate needs. Note: Blast preparation is highly recommended to ensure optimum performance. Surtech Industries’ standard process is to run ALL substrates through a six stage pre-treatment process. However, burning and blasting is performed at the behest of the customer. Our six stage pre-treatment process degreases the substrate and forgives dirt, grime, and contaminants, while ensuring powder adhesion and corrosion protection.
A - The standard lead time for powder finishing is 2-5 business days, depending on the scope of the project.
A - At present time, Surtech Industries does NOT provide powder finishing service for wood or plastic materials.
